Acceptable Use Policy

This policy explains what you can’t do with Switchyard. It applies to every hostname, redirect, and account on the service, and it’s part of our Terms of Service.

Prohibited uses

You may not use Switchyard to:

• Redirect a hostname you do not own or control.
• Phish, or impersonate a person, business, or brand you are not.
• Distribute malware, or send visitors to a site that does.
• Commit fraud or run scams, including deceptive redirect chains that hide where a visitor is actually headed.
• Send spam, or build redirects used mainly to drive unwanted traffic.
• Host or link to illegal content, or content that violates the rights of others.
• Evade a suspension, including by re-adding a suspended hostname or opening a new account after we suspend one.
• Abuse Switchyard’s infrastructure, including excessive automated requests, attempts to bypass rate limits, or interference with the service for other customers.

Enforcement

When we find a violation, we may warn you, suspend the affected hostname or redirect, or close your account, depending on how serious and how repeated the violation is. A suspended hostname shows a notice page instead of your redirect until the issue is resolved. We may act without warning for phishing, malware, or anything that puts visitors at immediate risk.

Reporting abuse

If you believe a Switchyard hostname is being used to phish, spread malware, or commit fraud, tell us on the Report abuse page. We review every report and may suspend the hostname while we look into it.
